Caving and Climbing in the Mendips
There’s a huge amount of caving in the area, ranging in character from
tight tortuous squalor, through to sporting streamways and huge
well-decorated chambers. It’s also a good place to give caving a go, as
there are plenty of shortish easy caves on for example Burrington Coombe,
that could be combined together depending on how keen you are, or combined
with a bit of climbing or eating cake the nearby tea shops.
For those of you who prefer wide open spaces, there’s plenty of decent
climbing (including a pretty good selection of sport routes) and walking
too.
