Late May bank holiday trip to Pembroke
Pembroke is a great place for trad sea cliff climbing, on often juggy limestone, with climbs across all the grades and in locations ranging from easy access single pitch stuff to the frankly adventurous (abseil approaches and wide tidal ranges).
We will be staying at St Petrox Campsite, Stackpole, SA71 5EQ. It’s close to the climbing and has hot showers.
The main climbing areas of Range East and Range West are very close. Climbers who want to climb in the interesting ‘forbidden zone’ of Range West will need to attend a safety briefing and register at the army base (on Saturday morning) – there is no need to do this for Range East. Further afield, there is good climbing near Penally and Lydstep and in North Pembrokeshire, around St David’s.
