2000 Climbing Meets List

The following list should give you some idea of the official climbing activities of the Club during 2000. All Transport arrangements will be sorted out at the pub meet proceeding the trip. If you are unable to attend the pub please telephone or e-mail the Climbing Secretary , before the Monday pub meet.

  • January 7th to 16th, France JaneSki takes to the road again, this year off to Val Thorens, for a week of skiing.

Pub Meets

We now meet every Monday at 9pm (except Bank Holidays when there is usually an away trip), the new venue is the “The Castle”, Castle Hill, Cambridge. Parking is available in the car park of the Shire Hall just up the road from the Castle. Various arrangements for club trips including car sharing arrangements are usually made on the Monday before the trip. If you cannot attend on this day please make direct contact with the climbing or the caving secretary.

  • 28th February 2000, 8.30 pm Annual General Meeting
  • 24th-25th November, Annual Dinner Meet at the The Castle Inn, Pengenfford in Wales ( 3 miles South of Talgarth in the Heart of The Black Mountains). This is an isolated inn with a bunkhouse for around 20 people and a campsite for the rest!They will do bunkhouse bed and breakfast for £12/night and camping with breakfast for £7.50/night. The Dinner would be from the pub menu, including lots of meat and veggie stuff, and would be payable individually to the pub on the night at 10% off the menu price.The pub has a website at www.thecastleinn.co.uk which has info, including a menu, which Paul at the pub suggests we order from in advance to speed things up on the night.
